Episode 66 – Undead Cowboys
00:00:00 – The lineup is a bit different than usual as Ryan is joined by alternative Paleopals Ben and Jacob. But wait! There’s more…
00:04:42 – Joining the Paleopals is Professor Robert Smith? and author Max Brooks. Zombie experts of disparate fields! What ensues is a round table zombie discussion sure to titillate and illuminate!
- Robert Smith?’s papers are public access (i.e. FREE!), go forth and learn.
- Max’s books you have to pay for, but they’re worth it. They will keep you alive.
- Ben wrote some stuff too this one time. Whatevs.
00:52:42 – After that great Z-table discussion it’s good to unwind with some wild west nonsense because this week’s Trailer Trash Talk is Cowboys and Aliens!
01:01:54 – Last up is the PaleoPOW! Jacob has a domestic iTunes review from faym001 that forgets to mention him. Ben has a Canadian iTunes review from Ryan Closs, whom Ryan has no prior knowledge of, and Ryan has a punny e-mail from Mike.
- Here’s the video we mentioned, I don’t wanna imbed it cause it’s a teensy bit graphic.
- And the other video, cautionary yet funny.

Los Angeles outnumbers southerners 10 to 1 with guns?… Speaking as a Texan, thems lies. My buddy Shawn has 13 guns by himself. That isn’t odd in these parts where hunting is the favorite thing to do for many. Los Angeles might have us beat on the percentage of people that have guns, but not the number of guns. The people that are into the gun culture around here are in it hardcore and own many guns. They will have plenty to spare for any neighbors that don’t have their own. That’s a fact.
Texas ain’t the South, Jon. It’s west of the Mississippi. Don’t make me come over there.
Again, number of guns isn’t even the deciding factor. Bullets and infrastructure, baby! That’s why me and my trusty QVC katana will be cutting our way through hordes of the undead… OW! Oh, the tip just got me! Owwww! I think I need emergency surgery!
Ryan, kudos for the Avery Beast. One of my faves. Have you had any others from that series? The Mephistopheles Stout is amazing, and the Samael’s is pretty insane, too (though I’ve liked certain years a lot more than others.)
Holy crap! Did you hear they may have found a cure for Zombieism… erm, AIDS?

Hey this is my first time commenting/interacting so, Hi. I just cought up on all the podcasts which I downloaded because I love cryptozoology and dinos, the podcast isn’t what I expected but in a good way =). I’m going to college in Florida (I want to be a large animal vet) and I had a question since you mentioned George Washington, how far back or how fresh does a zombie need to be to be reanimated? I would love to a show about vampires but please no twilight. Awesome show! You have a fan in me!
[...] up is a voicemail from Mike (also from Brooklyn) asking ben for some follow up on zombies based on Episode 66, but only after lavishing praise on Ryan for his Marvel Science of Iron Man articles of last year. [...]
