About Ben
Hello, i’m a PhD student in the Department Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. I did my master’s at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario; and I got my BSc from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC. I study classical General Relativity, and a little Quantum gravity. Whenever I meet some new idea I ask “how does that fit into the system as I understand it?” I wrote a popular paper about Superman that attracted the notice of the paleopals; and I spend some of my free time every autumn researching zombies… Not everything in this world is mathematics and physics, but it’s amazing how many things are! I like to drink pop.

I just have to say that I *loved* the superman paper. It was awesome.
Some kids in my AP Chem class and me listened to that section of the Science…sort of Podcast and we all were like “Oh wow, I never thought about it like that!”
Ben totally blew away my question about the Flash and Blue Shift. Keep up the good work!

I wanted to let you know that I just left an iTunes review/rating for the show. I discovered Science…Sort Of approximately a month ago and after listening to just one episode I subscribed and downloaded the whole works. I usually listen to one show per day, in order; I’m currently up to #46. I also want you to know that I am a fellow Canadian (from Central Alberta). Tell your fellow Paleopals the they had better stop making fun of us or we’ll send Celine Dion back down there. Keep up the great work.
